I received an email today from the lovely Liloo from Le Petit Jardin De Liloo regarding a new nail polish set bought out by BeautyUK.
This interested me for two reasons, firstly and most unimportantly, I love nail polish. Secondly, and far more important to me, the sales of the set will be benefiting Breast Cancer Research, a subject close to my heart since my mum was diagnosed in 2009.
Called Paint for Life the set consists of three polishes in a range of pink.
BeautyUK aims to raise £50,000 over the next 12 months through sales of this boxset and I hope that everyone who loves nail polish will get on board with the campaign.
The idea was born following a giveaway on BeautyUK’s social media sites encouraging followers to name future nail polishes from the brand, whereby Sam Hays from Sheffield suggested having a range of different nail polishes and giving them varying titles relating to Cancer Research UK. This came about after Sam saw her mother and mother-in-law battle with cancer and wanted to see a brand she loved give back to a worthy cause.
The BeautyUK team took these ideas and went on to develop a unique boxset consisting of three shades of pink nail polish and titled it the ‘Paint for Life trio’.
Each bottle is individually named with ‘Hope’, ‘Strength’ and ‘Love’.
From every £5.99 set sold, £1 will be donated directly to Breast Cancer Research.
Tom Pearson, Director at BeautyUK said;
“We are extremely proud to be supporting Cancer Research UK this year and hopefully beyond.
The team at BeautyUK is really excited about the new nail polish trio and helping make a difference to this incredible cause. We’re asking all our customers to support us in helping raise awareness of breast cancer and raising funds to enable Cancer Research UK to continue with its indispensable work in preventing, diagnosing and treating this type of cancer.”
Claire Rowney, head of corporate partnerships at Cancer Research UK, said;
“We are delighted to be working with such a well-loved beauty brand, such as beautyuk. The design and development of the set of nail polishes in aid of raising vital funds for research into breast cancer is a great example of how cause related marketing can really impact on the work we do. We look forward to working with the team and ultimately saving more lives through the donations made.”
The Paint for Life trio is available online and in Superdrug shops nationwide (£5.99)
