So my inaugural post from my new house what shall it be?
What else but the one thing I've been asked about a whole heap of times, Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter.
Before I moved I took advantage of the buy two get one free offer on at Boots to pick up three Lip Butters (and as I was moving I had them delivered to store instead of my home)
These are the three I went for from the selection on offer.

| L-R: Lollipop, Berry Smoothie, Macaroon |
Described as a 'buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips, and containing hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter, the gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth with a sheer to medium colour.'
Unfortunately here in the UK we will only be getting 14 of the 20 colours available overseas and those shades are;
Pink Truffle
Sugar Frosting
Raspberry Pie
Tutti Frutti
Peach Parfait
Candy Apple
Macaroon
Berry Smoothie
Cupcake
Lollipop
Strawberry Shortcake
Sweet Tart
Crème Brulee
Cotton Candy
If you end up seeing swatches online of other shades that you love but are not listed here it's time to enlist a stateside friend to help you get them.
The first noticeable thing about the lip butter(s) is the packaging, nice and sturdy with a distinctive quilting patten they are colour coded to the product within, which in my opinion is a nice touch.
As for the actual formulas themselves, the shades I have got are all extremely well pigmented, especially Lollipop which is very vibrant. They glide on very easily, or at the risk of sounding stupid, they are very buttery and soft.
Now it's time for me to get a little picture heavy with hand and lip swatches.
Lollipop.
Berry Smoothie.
Macaroon.
All of these swatches were one slick only, so the colour has not been built up for effect. Lollipop like I said before is very bright and vibrant blue pink, Berry Smoothie on my lips is a very natural rosy pink, and Macaroon is another natural yet slightly more golden/shimmery pink/red which had me in mind of MAC Thrills when I saw it on.
All of the colours can be layered to create denser colour or worn as a simple slick just for some colour.
These are definitely something I like as they are not full blown 'done up' like lipstick, but also not sticky and gooey like lipgloss. They are more balmy and I find that an easier look to pull off day to day.
What do you think of the new Lip Butters?

Totally unimpressed when I heard about them, now I've seen them... Might try one (or several)
ReplyDeleteI bought sweet tart after reading about it on a different blog and I love it. It doesn't last too long but it's something i can wear w/o feeling too done up. Since the price is reasonable, I plan on buying much more. They all look fab on you btw.
ReplyDeleteI love berry smoothie
ReplyDeleteI bought Cupcake, Strawberry Shortcake, Tutti Frutti, Sweet Tart and Sugar Frosting, I am loving them but so expensive for so little product xx

I am obsessed with these lip butters and I only wish I could have the Macaroon color! I want it so bad, but I live in the US. You are so lucky! :)
