I've always hated perfumes by Thierry Mugler so when I decided I wanted Womanity I wasn't sure if it was because I loved or hated the scent so much. I still don't know for sure if I love it or hate it but I know I love the design of the bottle.
The bottle brings to mind Giger's artwork to me. (Being a bit of a nerd and all)

The actual perfume itself is as unique as the bottle it comes in. It is quoted as having the sharp notes of citrus, the complex notes of woods, the sweetness of fig and the saltiness of caviar.
To me the perfume smells quite creamy, almost delicate but with a sharpness that stops it being soft, it's extremely long lasting and doesn't fade away at any point. There are times when I can't stop sniffing it and there are times when I'd rather not smell it again.
I did find out after getting this perfume that Lady Gaga wears it. So that should tell you a bit about how unique it smells. And look at the detail in the bottle, the chain around it, and did I mention it's refillable. That's right you can refill the bottle time and again.
Is this one you have tried, or want to try?

Mine was in a sale and was £42 for a giftset including body lotion (Thank you Mr Red for buying it me)

The bottle is so beautiful. I remember I really wanted to like Angel and I kept wearing it, and even had people in the street telling me it smelt great, but most of the time I didn't really like it! (Weird, I know). I think that's the way with Thierry Mugler stuff. Sometimes it smells amazing, sometimes not, but it's always fascinating! :-) x

ReplyDeleteI've hated the name 'Womanity' since I first heard it so I've always refused to try it. It does sound intriguing though.
I agree completely Toria, some days I love it some I cant stand it.

Great observation about the bottle. HR Giger designed the special effects for the Ridley Scott movie 'Alien'. Also, the perfume bottle has a slight Art Deco feel.

You have taken some fab photos of the bottle and I love the way in which you described the scent. Thierry Mugler's scents are definitely a love it or loathe it range. I'm certain I've tried this but I really can't remember how it smelt, I must try it again. Thanks for sharing :)
