Hands up if you've heard of the launch of Vivo Cosmetics due out in selected Tescos this September.. I'm pretty much expecting most of you to have heard about it if you've been on twitter at all recently.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend the launch although receiving an invitation (dammed work) but Vivo very kindly send me a few items to try out at home.
I got got the Diamond Sparkles Lipgloss (£1.50), Liquid Eyeliner (£2.00) and Matte Foundation (£2.59) and yes those prices are correct.
Billed as 'The MAC of supermarket make-up brands, it includes a range of stylised make-up essentials for all beauty junkies. Bringing catwalk inspired looks to the convenience of the supermarket but without the hefty price tag.'
So what did I think of the products I received?
First up the Diamond Sparkles Lipgloss.
Give lips a sparkly sheen with these diamond shine lip glosses.
With a brush applicator it does take a bit of squishing to get the product out but once it is the brush distributes it cleanly and evenly over its desired area. I received the lipgloss in Sheer Spice, a nude colour with lots of sparkles in but without feeling gritty on the lips.
I found it very similar to BeautyUK's Lip Lust.
Also available in Candy Floss, Summer Fruits and Raspberry Sorbet.
Don't let the names fool you, there is no taste and no scent to this product.
Next the Matte Foundation.
A long-lasting soft, matte finish with a smooth application to give flawless coverage and comfort all day long.
Unfortunately I received the foundation in Shade 4 Toast, which is far to dark for me to try out properly without looking like an OmpaLumpa. But what I did swatch on my hand spread easily and covered a far sized area for such a small blob.
Also available in Natural Sand, Honey Beige, Fawn and Biscoti I'm kind of hoping the lightest shade is light enough for me because at £2.59 this is a steal.
Lastly the Liquid Liner.
Create statement eyes with liquid liners available in a multitude of metallic colours.
Excuse the wet look photo of my eye I applied this very quickly for the shoot. It literally took me seconds to create a almost perfect flick, in contrast to when I try it with Kohl and it takes me ten to fifteen minutes. Very easy to use and gives a smooth, clean line straight off.
Also available in Glitter Black, Brown, Plum, Slate, Grey and Silver. The one I used here was Carbon Black.
All in all I'd say check out this range if you see it in Tescos.

Omg, that foundation is DARK against your skin. Oh dear :/ Don't they go any paler?
ReplyDeleteIdk, not really interested in this company. Nice that they sent you products because you couldn't make it, though.
I think they go paler, but do they go pale enough. That is the question.
ReplyDeleteThe products look great for the price. I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the range is like.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see these in store! :) The foundation doesn't sound too hopeful, being pale is probably one of the most annoying things in the world. The packaging reminds me a bit of MUA too ? Good to see they have affordable false eyelashes though :D xo
ReplyDeleteWow..you do master the cat-eyeliner!
ReplyDeleteI'm soo tempted about this brand. They look a bit like Famous by sue Moxley. Or at least the packaging of their e/s does. And their skin highlighter looks exactly like the Accessorize one
I need to find a Tesco that sell them.
X
boo, I wish we had a big tesco and try to brand xx
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the liquid eyeliner, you cat eyeliner looks great! Only a few "lower-end" brands actually make foundation pale enough for my skin so let's see how pale their lightest is :/ xx
ReplyDeleteThe range looks great! I tweeted them to see if they were going to be stocking it here in Ireland but I never got a reply! :(
