Xen-Tanning Virgin

Xen-Tan Transform Luxe
According to the Xen-Tan website 'even the fairest skin can enjoy a natural-looking tan,' that's me then.

The product is 'easy to apply, and with a gorgeous fresh fragrance, it goes on smoothly and fades evenly, for a flawless finish every time. Leaving you looking radiant and feeling amazing.' I agree with the first three statements, it is easy to apply, it does smell nice and it did go on smoothly.

Flawless, not so much. Maybe because I'm a self tanning virgin, but I did exfoliate and moisturise the night before I tanned. The day after applying the tan there wasn't much difference in my colour, just the faintest of colours enough to take the blinding whiteness off my legs but not a lot else.

Saying that I did use the Transform Luxe in Light/Med, just in case it went horribly wrong so I wasn't expecting to go dark. Plus this is one where you can build up the colour if you wish, but after seeing my knees and ankles I'm not to sure I want to. They are rather, jaundiced looking.

Could be my inexperience with self tanner mind but check these out;
Top of the pictures my ankle looking blotchy. The two below are the difference between my untanned arm (left) and my tanned legs (right).
Not a huge difference but like I say it did take the blinding whiteness from my skin, and with more practise I might even be less blotchy.
I would recommend Xen-Tan, it smells nice and is easy to apply but I would also recommend practise if like me you're a tanning virgin.

  1. This looks good - at least it doesn't leave you orange straight away!

  2. I am quite surprised by how lacklustre the result is! Did you exfoliate and moisturise beforehand? Needless to say, there is a slight glow going on with your skin which is really lovely!

  3. Is it meant to be one of those that builds?? Like a gradual tanner?? Stick another layer on and see what happens :) xx
