Soap & Glory's Fab Pore Facial Peel

This is something I've been using for about a month now, it's already featured in my Best of March post and in my Skincare Diary post.

So what am I talking about?

It's this lovely here.

Soap & Glory's Fab Pore Facial Peel.

Designed for greasy, spot prone or problem skin, or troublesome T-Zones this mask boasts;

Fomes Officinalis Extract: A mushroom extract to tighten pores.

Salicylic Acid: Which loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging

Kaolin: It sops up extra oil on your skin and smooths your skin

Vitamins E & C: Antioxidants.

Along with something called Poreshrink-R Complex, I don't actually know what this is other than a 'hyped/made up name to get people to buy it'. (just my opinion)

Anyway, what drew me to this mask was the fact it contains Salicylic Acid, which is fantastic in helping calm, control and eventually defeat blemishes. That and the cutesy packaging that really catches your eye and looks more fun than serious.

The 'peel' itself (actually a mask not a 'real' peel off peel) is a light pink colour with little green balls in which you're meant to rub into your skin until they have all burst. It doesn't actually say what the green balls are made of, but I'm assuming that they in someway help with exfoliation.

It is one of those masks you can either leave on for five minutes for a 'refresher' or for fifteen minutes for a proper deep cleaning facial. I like to leave on for the full fifteen minutes.

During the time the mask is on it doesn't at any point go hard, like some other clay masks do, it remains quite moist, and you can only see a tiny drying effect on the mask when it's removal time. Not enough to feel on the skin. (That horrid tightness of some masks)

The mask has a very fresh smell to it, it makes me think of a mild toothpaste almost with the primary smell being of mint, which makes your mouth water. I've been trying to find out what causes the scent, but I think it must just be the perfume they add to the product. (If anyone knows let me know?)

Other than the fact I can't figure out what the scent is from, I have no idea what Poreshrink-R Complex actually is, and any vitamins that are in this are there in such tiny amounts as to be a mute point. I actually LOVE this mask.....

Ha Ha you weren't expecting me to say that then were you?

Yes I love it, I use it twice a week on my troubled areas, which is mostly my jaw and chin. After using it my skin is lovely and soft and any blemishes I have are a lot less irritated and red. The next morning I find the blemishes, although not gone, are reduced in size and already moving onto the healing stage.

I would buy this again and again, in fact this is going to be a staple in my cabinet from now on.

And for £7.15 from Boots I'd have to say it's a bargain.

  3. How does this work on the pores on your nose and chin? Mine are usually quite congested and will get worse in the summer.

  5. I love this mask too. I normally use it as a moisture boost but recently I had really big pores on my chin & slapped some of this on & as if by magic they disappeared. Another amazing product by S&G x

  6. @skinscrubs I find that quite hard to answer as I don't get pore issues, I only get random blemishes. But Salicylic Acid does helps slow down the shedding of the cells inside follicles, preventing clogging. And it also helps break down blackheads and whiteheads. So with usage I should image it would help with bad congestion.

  7. Thanks for providing the information about an intensive action pore-refining 15-minute facial peel. It is ideal for greasy, spot-prone or problem skin. It contains a mushroom extract to tighten pores and salicylic acid that loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging. It also includes kaolin to sop up extra oil on your skin and smooth your skin’s surface and Vitamins E and C for antioxidants.
